CFP: [Renaissance] Alan Bray's Friendship - Roundtable discussion (ASECS 3/26-29 2009)
The Gay and Lesbian Caucus invites 5-10 minute roundtable discussion topics
on the work of Alan Bray. His two main works, Homosexuality in Renaissance
England (1982/1995) and The Friend (2003), span twenty years of academic
achievement in the study of homosexuality, family, and friendship. We are
looking for ideas and thoughts on the development of his theses or more
specifically on his self-proclaimed "puzzling" notions of homosocial and
public friendship as they concern eighteenth-century scholarship. Please
send your proposals to both chairs: Michael Taylor -mttaylor_at_ucalgary.ca-
and Kristi Krumnow -kristi.krumnow_at_usu.edu.
