International Journal of English Literature and Social Sciences (IJELS)(ISSN: 2456-7620) is a bi-monthly peer-reviewed refereed journal that inviting Literature Essays, Review Articles, Research articles, case studies, conference proceeding, and short communication in the field of English Literature, Humanities, and Social Sciences. IJELS welcomes quality work that focuses on research, development, and review.

After submission, all papers will be evaluated by experienced editorial members for their originality, Language perspective, and correctness, the relevance of topic and presentation quality.

Southern Cross University School of Law and Justice, in partnership with the Law, Literature and the Humanities Association of Australasia (LLHAA), is proud to convene and organise the 2019 LLHAA conference titled JurisApocalypse Now! Law in End Times, which will be held at Southern Cross University Gold Coast Campus on 2-4 December 2019.

The conference will explore the intersection of legality, temporality and eschatology, the normatively uncertain and yet inherently creative space originated by the conflicting encounter between the orderly desire of law and the entropic tendency of apocalyptic narratives, with both forces cast against the backdrop of the ever-­deferred notion of time itself.

Department of American Literature and Culture at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University is pleased to announce the third ExRe(y) conference. A three-day international conference “ExtReme 21: Going Beyond in Post-Millennial North-American Literature and Culture” will be held on June 4-6, 2020 in Lublin, Poland.

We invite proposals for papers and panels that focus on the topic of the (broadly understood) extreme in American and Canadian literature and culture of the last two decades.

In celebration of the life and works of the eminent scholar Pierre Coustillas (1930-2018), we invite contributions for a special issue of Literature Compass(https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/17414113)on Coustillas, George Gissing, and their writing. Coustillas has had a profound influence on Gissing and nineteenth-century studies. From 1969 to April 2013, he edited The Gissing Newsletterand subsequently The Gissing Journal, the organ for Gissing studies. In 1997, Paul F. Mattheisen, Arthur C. Young, and Coustillas completed their landmark project: The Collected Letters of George Gissing.

As the twentieth century witnessed the rise of film and visual media, the twenty-first century is currently witnessing the rise of video games and other such interactive media as a narrative and art form that overlaps in its scope and ambitions with the literary realm. In many language and literature departments across the globe, film is now firmly ensconced in the curriculum; video games and interactive media have already been granted their own departments at numerous larger institutions and will increasingly fall under the purview of language and literature departments at smaller schools.
