Panel and individual paper proposals are now being accepted for the inaugural Oceanic Popular Culture Association Conference. While all topics and proposals will be considered, those treating the conference theme of "Work and Play" are particularly welcome.

  We invite abstracts for papers, roundtable discussions, and presentation/lectures on any topic related to political science and its representation in the works of novelist and futurist Robert A. Heinlein.
   
  Studies in political science appear in nearly all of Heinlein's novels and short stories, wherein he could challenge the political structures of his day and explore the possibilities of what governments of the future might be like. All topics related to political science are welcome. Suggested topics include:
  --Citizenship (the right of; the responsibilities of; methods of earning)

  Throughout the mid-to-late 20th century, Robert A. Heinlein stirred up controversy with his various treatments of human sexuality. From S-groups to a particular brand of free love best described as "the gates are locked and it's nobody's business," Heinlein challenged our thinking about gender and sexuality like few authors before or since.
   
  Suggested topics include (but are not limited to):
   
  --Sex vs. gender
