The Children's Literature Division of the SCMLA invites paper proposals
for the 2006 meeting to be held October 26-28 in Dallas, Texas. In
keeping with the conference theme "Cultural Roundup," this panel
welcomes proposals for papers on the topic of culture with attention to
gender, religion, race, ethnicity, and adolescence.

 Papers are invited for the 2006 edition of the journal of new poetry of African expressions NP Vol 1 No. 3 2006. The Journal of New Poetry (internationally refereed) is an online project of the International Research Confederacy on African Literature and Culture [IRCALC] which previously edited the New Nigerian Poetry Journal. The Journal of New Poetry of African expressions [NP] is an expansion of our editorial scope to reflect the global dimension of ircalc's efforts in African literary and cultural appreciation. By African expressions we refer to materials from both the geographical Africa and the island of Madagascar and the heritage that includes other members of the African Diaspora across the Americas, Europe, the Caribbean Islands, etc.

Abstracts are invited for the Short Fiction Session of the South Central
Modern Language Association meeting which will take place in Dallas, Texas,
26-28 October 2006.

"Revolutionizing Short Fiction: Kate Chopin, Katherine Mansfield, and
Katherine Anne Porter"

This session invites papers exploring any of the revolutionary and
revolutionizing aspects of the short fiction of Kate Chopin, Katherine
Mansfield, and/or Katherine Anne Porter. Four papers will be accepted for
this panel.

Some aspects of "revolution" which might be explored include but are not
limited to:
